This is a documentation and labelling aid, not installation guidance. It does not check code compliance, RCD/AFDD requirements, protection coordination, selectivity, RCD grouping, phase balancing or conductor sizing — it only draws what you type in below. Work on electrical installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician (Elektrofachkraft) per the applicable national standard based on IEC 60364 / HD 60364 (e.g. DIN VDE 0100 in Germany); always de-energise before any work.

Auto-numbering

MCB, RCBO and AFDD rows are numbered automatically in order (1, 2, 3…). Main, RCD, SPD and reserve rows are not numbered — they don't feed a load directly.

Device notes (informational only)

AFDDs (arc fault detection devices, Brandschutzschalter) per IEC 60364-4-42 / DIN VDE 0100-420 are used where higher fire protection is required — e.g. sleeping areas, places of assembly, flammable-material storage, irreplaceable goods, agricultural premises. RCD types: Type A is the modern minimum for most circuits; Type AC should no longer be specified for new installations with electronic loads; Type F for frequency inverters; Type B for smooth DC faults (EV chargers, PV, VFDs). This tool records what you enter — it does not check whether a circuit needs an RCD or AFDD, nor which type.

The phase-distribution figure is a nominal breaker-rating distribution, not a load calculation. Method

How this tool works

You enter one row per protective device already decided for the board — the main switch, any RCDs, and the MCBs/RCBOs feeding each circuit. Assigning an MCB to an RCD group nests it under that RCD in the diagram. The single-line schematic and the circuit schedule are both generated live from that one list, so they can never drift out of sync with each other.

Does this tool check whether my board is wired correctly?

No. It only draws and lists what you type in — it does not verify protection coordination, selectivity, RCD grouping, conductor sizing, or code compliance. It is a documentation aid, not an installation or design tool. Any electrical work must be planned and carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where is my board saved?

Boards are saved to your browser's local storage only, under a versioned key — nothing is uploaded to a server. This means a board persists across visits on the same browser/device, but won't appear on a different device or browser, and will be lost if that browser's storage is cleared.

Can I model a three-phase board?

Yes — switch the board to three-phase and the busbar widens to L1/L2/L3/N with conductor colours per HD 308 S2 (brown / black / grey / blue). Single-pole circuits are assigned to a phase; 3- and 4-pole devices span all three. A nominal phase-distribution readout below the schedule helps you eyeball balance — it sums breaker ratings, it is not a load calculation.

Which standards does this relate to?

Low-voltage installation rules across Europe are harmonised under IEC 60364 / HD 60364, implemented nationally as DIN VDE 0100 (DE), NF C 15-100 (FR), CEI 64-8 (IT), NEN 1010 (NL), UNE-HD 60364 (ES) and BS 7671 (UK/IE). Conductor identification colours follow HD 308 S2; AFDD provisions come from IEC 60364-4-42; installation documentation from IEC 60364 §514. This tool is a documentation aid aligned with that framing — it does not check compliance with any of them.
